The situation

Small food and drink brands have a harder job online than most people realize. They have to explain a product a lot of visitors have never tried, hold on to their personality while doing it, and still actually sell something. Most end up doing one of the three well and letting the other two slide.

The thinking

The brand voice and the shop are usually treated as separate jobs — personality on the About page, transactions everywhere else. That split is where a lot of small brands lose people. So the structure keeps them together: the character lives on the product pages, not in a corner of the site nobody visits.

The design

Flavors get room to be browsed properly rather than being crushed into a dense grid, because with a product like this the browsing is the selling. Warm, confident palette. Product photography given space to work. Every step from landing to checkout is short and obvious, and the trust details people actually look for — shipping, returns, what’s in it — sit where they’re needed rather than buried in a footer link.

The build

Responsive from the phone up, since that’s where most direct-to-consumer traffic arrives. Product and collection layouts built to take more items without needing a redesign. Cart and checkout kept to the fewest steps the platform allows.

WHAT IT DEMONSTRATES

Product presentation for a small consumer brand, category structure that scales, and a purchase path that keeps brand character intact all the way to checkout.

WHAT I’D CHANGE

Lighthouse puts mobile performance at 73 with a 5.0s LCP, and the cause is asset weight I signed off on — the four-flavour hero is a single 2.3MB WebP, with three product images over 1.3MB behind it. I would ship those as a responsive set at three widths before I touched anything else.
